Why?

Flatiron, located in East Atlanta Village, has some of the most eclectic daily specials we've ever seen. Every day, they come up with some kind of new concoction that seems completely ridiculous on paper, but they absolutely know what they're doing over there. The specials are top notch and genuinely inventive.

Because of this, my friend Amanda and I were joking in a group chat that they must use some kind of random food generator to come up with their specials. Which got me thinking: I could probably make that.

So Amanda got started on creating the various ingredients and dropping them into an Excel file, while I got to work figuring out the best way to code a website to generate menu ideas. What I ended up with was a heavily modified Mad-Libs style generator written in JavaScript originally.

With quite a few changes, a lot of late nights, learning some JS and PHP, and some work with Claude, this is the fourth version of the site. I think what I am most proud of is the persisent concoction counter that updates in real time.
